What’s a good age to start prepairing for the second stage of your life ?
My advice to women is to take a nurturing approach towards thier Bodies, Spirit and Minds from the age of 35 in order to have an easier time of it during our 40’s 50’s and beyond. My aim is to encourage and aid women in this earlier age category - age 35 plus - to really slow down which will help to keep thier hormones in balance, prevention is better than cure.
Body, Spirit, Mind and Emotions
It ain’t just pyhysical - Many women that I see over the age of around 42 start having a wide variety of peri-menopausal symptoms and we will address these together to support your Body, Spirit, Mind and Emotions. My most popular session is 90 min Acupuncture and Mentoring /Coaching where I both educate and treat drawing on Pearls of Wisdom from Chinese Medicine, my own experience and Naturopathy.
More comprehensive packages are also available over a 3 month period.
My approach is suitable for women on HRT or other medication.
What are the Symptoms of Peri/Meno?
During the menopause/post menopause stage we are seeing more frequent UTI’s, itchy skin, histamine issues, Shoulder issues, irregular periods, flooding, loss of sex drive, emotional and mental overwhelm, Joint problems, dry skin, night sweats, hot flushes, digestive issues bone density loss, exhaustion, weight gain, confusion about the next step in life, a feeling of being lost at sea, isolation, fear as though we are standing at the edge of the precipice. We know there is light - or ‘Second Spring’ but we just aren’t there yet at this Nirvana state. - in fact we are at the other end of the spectrum. Transformation isn’t easy, I can support you through it.
The Sympom list is pretty extensive - there are over 40 symptoms!

During our late 40’s, many women opt for blood tests to asses thier hormone levels, blood tests may be helpful, they are only a snapshot in time so can give you widely varied results of your FSH hormone depending on where you are in your cycle.. so if your bloods don’t shed any light or appear ‘normal’ just check the symptom tracker and let that be your true guide.
That said - Blood test are of use as during peri and post-menopause it is quite common to experience Thyroid imbalances, Anemia or Vit D issues, the blood tests will bring these issues to light.

My Menopause Story
I entered the Intense and final stage of perimenopause around age 48, coinciding with the onset of lockdown and my son's teenage surge of hormonal angst. My symptoms were predominantly emotional—frustration, short temper, and occasional internal rage—alongside brain fog, a sense of disconnect from others, and energy fluctuations. I experienced six-week-long spells of heavy bleeding, which proved exhausting and left me feeling pretty lack lustre. Things got a bit heavy.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), many (but not all ) perimenopausal symptoms stem from Kidney Yin Deficiency, where our bodies overheat due to natual hormonal decline and erratic shifts in hormones.
Our menstrual flow has until now acted as an exit point and served to ‘release’ heat and cool the body, however now that our bleed has subsided we internalize that heat. On the other hand- excessive bleeding can be physically draining and potentially lead to further health complications.
To nurture myself emotionally during lockdown, I engaged in regular activities such as daily Qi Gong and remained committed to my mantra meditation practice. I found great solace in singing, prayer, body movement, breathwork and energy work, which effectively helped me manage anxiety, build my immunity and move toward a more genuine sense of calm. I firmly believe that these practices contributed to supporting my immunity and maintaining the flow of qi/lifeforce during lockdown. The more Qi we have the better our blood flows and circulates.
My mission now is to share what I have learnt through my own experience and knowledge with women going through Peri and Post Menopause.
