How to prepare for your Reiki Session
I’m excited to be teaching Reiki Level 3 this weekend to a wonderful group of women. I am deeply grateful for their commitment, openness, and trust in this journey. May they be abundantly blessed.
Preparing for Reiki Sessions or Attunements
Many people ask how they should prepare for Reiki sessions or attunements. Here are some simple guidelines:
Avoid consuming alcohol within at least an hour before or after the session.
Ideally, avoid having a very full stomach.
Make sure you arrive at the correct location. 😊
The Most Important Preparation: Arrive as You Are
The most valuable preparation is simply to show up as you are. Everything will unfold perfectly once you arrive. However, if you'd like to set an intention, you might consider affirmations such as:
“I am safe. I am a loving, compassionate person.”
“My thoughts are clear and grounded.”
Try to use positive, affirming language rather than phrases like "I wish," "I can’t," or "I shouldn’t." We can also explore intentions together when you’re in session.
Connecting with Your Body
Take a moment to check in with your body. Notice if there’s any area needing attention, whether it's physical (like a sore hip) or emotional. You might also connect with a particular color, sensation, or feeling. If you channel energy intuitively, like artists and writers often do, feel free to tap into this universal inspiration.
The Reiki Process
During the session, Reiki will intuitively flow to where it’s needed most, connecting with your highest self and promoting healing. Each session is a collaboration between your highest self, your practitioner, and Reiki’s loving, intelligent energy—all working together for your highest good.
So, just come as you are. Everything is already perfectly aligned for your experience.:)
